Biography
Blake M. Dremann is an active duty Navy Lieutenant Commander. He hails from St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Ozark Christian College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Biblical Literature. He commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida in March 2006. He completed Joint Professional Military Education Phase I through the Air Command and Staff College in December 2016 and started his Masters of Business Administration at Norwich University in June 2017. He currently does as a supply chain management for in Fort Belvoir, VA.
Dremann has served in a variety of sea and shore duty assignments completing 11 deployments. His initial sea tour was aboard USS Denver (LPD 9), assigned to the Supply Department as the Sales and Disbursing Officer completing five forward deployed patrols in the Pacific. He served as supply officer aboard USS Maine (SSBN 741), completing five strategic deterrent patrols and ranked #1 of 14 supply officers on the waterfront. Ashore, he was assigned to the Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia as the Sales, Food Service and Billeting Officer. During Operation Enduring Freedom, he was the Assistant Commander’s Emergency Response Program Coordinator at Combined Joint Task Force – 101 in Bagram, Afghanistan supporting approvals for short and long term infrastructure improvement projects throughout Regional Command East. Most recently he served as a joint logistics intern on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon.
His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) and various other decorations. He is a qualified as a Submarine Supply Corps Officer and Surface Warfare Supply Corps Officer. Lt. Cdr. Dremann is a 2015 recipient of the Navy League's Vice Admiral Robert F. Batchelder Award, the Navy’s highest logistics award for contributing to the operational readiness of the fleet.
He is also the President of Servicemembers, Partners and Allies for Respect and Tolerance for All known as SPART*A, a national LGBT advocacy organization that is focused on transgender military service. This is the leading organization that helped change the policy in the Department of Defense that barred open transgender service members. He resides in Alexandria, VA with the cutest chiweenie around, Lucas.
