Lieutenant Colonel Bryan (Bree) Fram is an active duty astronautical engineer (rocket scientist) in the US Air Force currently serving as the Iraq Country Director in Air Force International Affairs stationed at the Pentagon. Lt Col Fram is responsible for overseeing all Air Force security cooperation and security assistance activity with Iraq.
Prior to this assignment Lt Col Fram was the executive officer in the Air Force Directorate of Strategic Plans. Previous assignments include a fellowship at the US Capitol serving on the staff of Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo, multiple tours as a program manager for satellite and technology programs and a deployment to Qatar and Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lt Col Fram publicly came out as transgender (gender-fluid) on the day the transgender ban in the military was dropped in 2016. Lt Col Fram has received the warm support of his military family and has provided several educational briefings on transgender and diversity issues to military and civilian audiences.
Lt Col Fram also serves as the Policy Committee Chair of SPART*A Trans, an organization that advocated for open transgender service and is dedicated to the support and professional development of over 700 transgender service members. Bryan has been married for 13 years to Peg Fram and they have two girls, age 9 and 5.
