New Coast Guard Captain, and a SPARTA Member!

SPARTA honors United States Coast Guard Captain Trey Wirth! On 07 April 2022, the USCG 'frocked' Trey Wirth to the rank of Captain. This promotion effectively makes CAPT Wirth one of the highest ranking, actively serving, transgender member of our military services.

CAPT Wirth (he/him/his), of Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, has been a member of the Coast Guard since June 2000. Currently CAPT Wirth oversees the Office of Marine Environmental Response Policy at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Throughout his career, CAPT Wirth has demonstrated superior service in high optempo All-Hazard incident management and crisis management roles. Performance in scenarios such as the BP Deepwater Horizon spill, Super Storm SANDY, and hurricane MARIA has resulted in continued faith and confidence in the leadership and knowledge of CAPT Wirth.

CAPT Wirth has continued to develop himself through higher education and certifications including a Master of Science in Quality Systems Management from the National Graduate School. His awards include the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal and four Coast Guard Commendation medals.

CAPT Wirth continues to ascribe to the highest levels of service and is proud to set the example for those around him.
